Guest Auditors, Guest students

There are a few points you need to consider in advance:

• As a guest student, you also need a higher education entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences / universities in Baden-Württemberg (you will find this note on your school leaving certificate)
   
• A guest auditor fee must be paid:
  80 € for lectures up to 4 semester hours per week,
  160 € for lectures up to 8 semester hours per week,
  200 € for lectures with more than 8 semester hours per week.

Since February 2016, there has been an exception for refugees who have already acquired previous knowledge in their home countries: they are allowed to attend selected courses as guest students and Pforzheim University will then waive the guest student fee that would otherwise be due. 

1. informally ask the relevant degree program / lecturer (contact via the academic staff, the respective contact persons can be found on the degree program pages under 'Contact') whether they have capacity for you as a guest student. 

2. if the answer is positive, submit the application for guest auditor status together with a passport photo to our StudiCenter. You will then be informed by us whether the application has been approved by all departments and how/where you need to transfer the fees for the guest student status.

3. once you have transferred the fees, you can collect your temporary student ID from the StudiCenter - please bring your transfer receipt with you.
