MADLAB in the A.K.T;
Located within walking distance of the university, the A.K.T; (in the stair tower of the former Alfons-Kern-Schule in Pforzheim) is a place of social discourse and an interdisciplinary laboratory of the future since October 2019. Current topics are illuminated from the perspective of design and art and the social relevance of art and design is made visible. The A.K.T; offers space for this on several levels: exhibitions take place regularly on two floors. On the top floor, the MADFM conducts research in the MADLAB.
From ivory tower to tower as a place of open and social encounter - the MADLAB of the MADFM offers a platform for the interplay of intuitive making and reflexive action. It facilitates interdisciplinary exchange and thus sets impulses for innovation - critical positions are developed in the field of tension between cultural, economic and social relevance and responsibility. It is a space for experimentation, research and discourse on future issues, hosting workshops, discours de la méthode and other panel discussions, as well as exhibitions of current student research - interfaces with the overarching issues of the exhibitions at A.K.T.;
It is a stage for ideas and projects and for discussion with the interested public.
