Admission procedure for Bachelor programs
After the application deadline, the artistic aptitude test takes place, which consists of pre-selection, entrance examination and technical interview.
Pre-selection
The first step is a pre-selection of the submitted artistic works by the admissions committee.
Then (approx. 2 weeks after the application deadline) you will be informed in the application portal whether you will be invited to the artistic aptitude test at the School of Design. Please allow one to two days in Pforzheim for the entrance examination and interview.
Under certain circumstances, the examination dates may also take place online - if this is the case, applicants will be notified in good time.
Artistic aptitude test
The artistic aptitude test (consisting of an entrance examination and an interview) takes place approximately 5-6 weeks after the application deadline and lasts 1 - 2 days (depending on the course):
In the first part of the entrance exam you will work on artistic tasks, in the second part on various topics related to the respective degree program. The tasks are announced directly at the start of the exam.
This is followed by a technical discussion/interview with professors from the selection committee.
ATTENTION: HS Pforzheim does not send admission or rejection letters by post. Please download your notification yourself in the application portal.
Result of the artistic aptitude test
Approximately two weeks after the aptitude test, you can check the results of the artistic aptitude test in the application portal.
If you have passed the aptitude test, you will receive a letter of admission directly in the application portal.
Once you have received the letter of admission, you can apply for enrollment (matriculation) in the first semester. Please read our detailed description of enrollment on this page.
If you have received a rejection letter, this may contain the information that the aptitude test has been passed, but unfortunately admission is not yet possible. If there are still places available on the reserve list, you may still be offered a place at short notice.
If you receive an exclusion notice, you will be excluded from the selection process.
You can find more information on this on the page 'Applying for a Master's degree program'.
